It’s Not That We Don’t Give a Sh*t

I often hear other people say that the 40s are awesome because we stop giving a shit about so much. But I disagree… it’s not that we stop giving a shit it’s that our shits shift to different things.

We give less shits about the cellulite, and loosey goosey arms, or lack of a ‘perfect’ body (just what the hell is that anyway?)

We give more shits about spending time with our family.

We give less shits about finding the perfect gift for our spouses, partners, kids, family members, and friends.

We give more shits about creating memories.

We give less shits about having a clean home.

We give more shits about the planet we live on.

We give less shits about what people think.

But we give more shits about the people we have in our lives. We want people who will laugh with us, cry with us, and make us better people. We want the Spanx people who support us and will help us conquer goals and attain dreams. We have little patience for people who don’t.

No, it’s not that we give less shits. We’re simply now more focused on where to put them.
